Chapter 6 - Running Audit Reports and Auditing Data Access

Audience: Data Governors, Data Owners, and users with the AUDIT permissions

Content Summary: This page sets the context for reports and audits in Immuta and includes a use case scenario and links to specific tutorials for reports.

Now that your company's Immuta instance is fully set up and Data Users are accessing and analyzing their data, Data Governors can create reports of data usage using natural language builder, and those with the AUDIT permission and Data Owners can pull audit logs directly in the Immuta UI.

Chapter 6 Use Case Scenario

Use Case

The use case described below will be presented in this chapter in this call-out to illustrate a specific reason to use Immuta reports. However, the solutions presented can be adjusted to meet your specific needs.

The compliance team is required to monitor data use and access for all projects, and project managers are required to audit data access for their projects in Immuta. To do so, users with the GOVERNANCE permission can build Immuta reports, and users with the AUDIT permission can view all Immuta audit logs. (Other users can view the audit logs for only data sources they own.)
